JEWISH EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
A unique alternative to Hebrew School

My 7 year old daughter had asked me to explore her religion and learn more about it. I had talked to other parents about forming a small group for Jewish learning. We were lucky enough to connect with Chanie through a Rabbi at a local Chabad, and the rest is a fairytale. Chanie created a curriculum that was productive and fun. The children learned how to read Hebrew, expanded their knowledge about holidays and traditions, and engaged in many meaningful conversations. 
Chanie and her JEL program was also a fun environment for learning. The kids learned about events in history by writing and acting in plays, they baked challah and other Jewish delicacies, and participated in many art projects, and even took part in class trips to visit other shuls and museums. 
It wasn't only the content of her classes that made this JEL group so successful. Chanie is an extremely patient, caring, and focused teacher. She is reliable, always prepared for class, and was able to field all the questions the children so often asked. 
Each week my daughter was enthusiastic to attend JEL with Chanie. It is now years later, and my daughter is about to be a Bat Mitzvah. Chanie has made this journey so delightful and we not only gained an education, we also gained a friend.
